How I Was Kicked Off Etsy And What This Means For You

Sometime around the first of November, 2024, I was permanently suspended from Etsy. I can no longer buy or sell on the platform. To be fair, I did see it coming, and I admit that I made mistakes that led up to my suspension.

But here's what I didn't do.

I never stole or copied designs. My suspension was for Intellectual Property  Infringement. (IP for short.) I have learned the hard way that just about anything can be considered intellectual property, and that specifically, lots of universities take this very seriously, as do some musical artists.

I won't defend my actions by claiming that I didn't do anything that others aren't doing every day, even though it's true.

The only thing I can stand on is that I love having happy customers.

And mine seemed to like the unique game day designs I came up with. Same with the country artists. Willie and Kenny apparently didn't appreciate my cute shirt designs featuring their lyrics, but my customers sure did!

So, all excuses aside, it is what it is, and I had to change my selling platform. At the time I left Etsy, I was up to around 800 listings, so it is taking me awhile to get everything transferred over. It's a slow process, but I'll get there!

What my suspension means for you.

When you purchase digital products from King Gap Creatives, you can rest assured that nothing is AI generated, and you won't find these designs anywhere else.

That's because all my designs are either hand drawn by me, or created using clipart purchased with a commercial license. This allows me to make and sell designs of my own, using the elements I purchased.

If you're looking for unique, you've come to the right place!

Tired of the same old, same old? Then King Gap Creatives is the place for you! No more endlessly scrolling Etsy for something you haven't already seen a hundred times. And no more AI generated designs with no character. All of our stuff starts with a vision in my head, and I try to bring it to life in a unique way.

My Etsy shop was mostly just t-shirt designs, but I have added some wall art and a couple of invitations since the switch, and I hope to keep adding new products all along.
